Join us for hands-on

workshops, guest chef pop- ups, community events and more!

We host events large and small in our industrial space located along the shoreline in beautiful India Basin. Join us for a guest chef evening highlighting some of the local talent of Bayview or for one of our movie nights where we show classic films, documentaries and special programming. We regularly host hands-on food and craft workshops put on by local individuals and organizations and offer the perfect place to join the community for makers/farmers markets, art and entertainment. We also offer a private dining space for staff meetings and retreats, family dinners, weddings, birthdays and just about any other occasion worthy of celebration. We love to collaborate with and support local businesses and bring the community together over good food, drink and conversation. Make sure to visit our events page to see what's going on and to stay connected!

We make local, fresh food sourced from the Bayview

Café Alma was created to provide the India Basin and Bayview community with a delicious, unique and health conscience gourmet food hub that utilizes the incredible resources of the neighborhood. Located in a community centric environment, we are more than just a restaurant- we are also an incubator for local small businesses, a community gathering space with options for private and public events and a place to relax, work, experience live music & workshops and play!

Housed in a 5,000 sq. ft. warehouse on India Basin's beautiful shoreline, Cafe Alma is named for the scow schooner that was built at the site in 1891, which today is a National Monument on view at the Maritime Museum of San Francisco. The Alma was an important ship that transported goods all around the bay and created commerce pathways that before it didn't exist. Our vision for Cafe Alma is that it operates much like the ship and connects people in new ways. India Basin has a deep historical importance and we are proud to pay homage to the valuable vessels and projects that were created in the shipyard and strive to acknowledge, support and enhance the amazing residents and businesses located within our community.

Please stop by for fresh brewed cup of Red Bay coffee, breakfast, lunch and dinner options and to connect with this incredible community. We proudly source a large amount of our product from the Bayview, we focus on local hire and we look forward to feeding you!
