Emmanuel Kazadi at Cafe Alma August 16- October 31

We're excited to welcome artist Emmanuel Kazadi, who was introduced to me by my friend Amy. From his bio: Emmanuel is a painter documenting the internal landscape of the global citizen. Born in Atlanta and shaped by a life lived across Africa, Europe, and America, he creates a visual language for the transcultural population. His work serves as a mirror for the millions who exist between borders, languages, and cultural codes.

I've loved getting to know him a bit and look forward to spending time with him during his install and opening.

His practice is centered on a forever young psyche. By translating recalled scenes and vignettes into high velocity paintings, Kazadi honors the people and moments that define a life in transit. His work carries the rhythmic DNA of many opposing facets to provide a voice for a generation that does not fit into a single box.

In a world that often demands a single identity, Kazadi’s art creates a space for the undefined. He paints to represent those who see the world through a multi layered filter.

He recenlty sold the painting below and details the experience in a heartfelt instagram post. Follow him to learn more about him, visit his website to purchase prints, and join us August 29th from 12-2 pm to meet him and support this talented young artist!
