Summer is just around the corner and we are excited to announce a fun and creative new partnership with SCRAP, Bayview's favorite non-profit organization working at the intersection of arts, education and the environment. SCRAP recently acquired a new permanent home (which is a massive building in the Bayview that will offer more square footage for all the great things they offer) and while they are building out their fantastic new space, they will be holding workshops at Cafe Alma. Starting May 16th, SCRAP will host a new series, Embroidery Extravaganza, that highlights various embroidery techniques from around the world. They will share foundational sewing knowledge as a means of hands-on learning. Featured in the series are Decorative Sashiko, Chain Stitching, Appliqué, and Tatreez. Sign up on their website at https://www.scrap-sf.org/workshops and support San Francisco's favorite center for creative re-use!
